Easter on the farm..........

We had a wonderful weekend away at a cow farm again this Easter.......fresh air, no hum of traffic, birds chirping, cows mooing.....a calf was born the day we arrived.

On the creative side of things I tried to absorb the amazing array of colour, texture and scent of anything and everything........a lovely time was had by all........

Looks like my Keira was feeling a little creative on the weekend....she got herself ready for a birthday party.......eeek !!

sigh........

A little bit of devastation in our home last week..........our little friend Chance passed away. He was only with us a short time......but has left a mammoth hole. Such a gorgeous little character...we knew his time might be short......perhaps not this short ........fly be free our little buddy......we were lucky to chance upon you.

Is it just me........

or could my silly cat have found a better spot to take a nap instead of underneath the blinding lights of my Xmas tree ???

We ventured in to watch the Sydney Harbour Fireworks...........such a fabulous experience.

My gorgeous Keira turned 9 on Christmas day.........happy birthday cheeky !

New family member........

Introducing Chance...................we found our little friend all alone, timid and scared as we were on a walk one day......we couldn't just leave him as he was out in the open - such easy prey for the next dog or cat that came along..........................he is only young his little wings and flight tail are not yet developed.............My daughter has named him Chance as it was "by chance" that we found him/her. You can't tell the sex of a Rainbow Lorikeet by looks (only by DNA).




















He loves to sleep in Madison's Groovy Girl Bed !!!!! Snuggled up with the blanket on....he/she is amazing !!! Chance loves nothing better than to snuggle up next to you while you pat or scratch his/her head, snuggles up to our cat.....even will sit on the dog for a ride.

Introducing Maggie........

I just have to post a picture of my new little friend...Maggie.

Maggie is my girlfriends new family addition and I am in lurrrrrrveeeeeeee..........

Ceramics.........

I have started a pottery class.............it is soooooooo relaxing to sit and mold clay......my creations are extremely 'organic' but I'm certainly having fun playing around.


Here is my coil bottle, slab cheese and dip set and my daughter keira made herself a cheeky dish.


This dish unfortunately came out with a lovely big crack in it......I have another cooking this week to replace it.

Coil bottle at different angles........I'm looking for a better angle to photograph it from.....there doesn't seem to be one :)

I have made a few spoon rests.....this was my first one so I kept it.

Oh my goodness..........I have just worked out that I was pregnant with my first child......was that REALLY 10 years ago !!!!! WOW

2. Day out with the family. (done)
3. Cook dinner (hmmm haven't even thought about it)
4. Relax (still yet to come)
5. Get the chicks to bed at a decent hour (will do)

oooooooooh I'm a snackaholic.........coffee, cheese, biscuits, mangoes (when in season) chocolate........hmmm I'm getting hungry..........(I am on my third day of my caffeine, cheese and red wine free diet)

4. What would you do if you were a billionaire?

Get a cleaner and purchase a daybed/lounge chair for that empty bay window in my bedroom and an absolutely fabulous family holiday.


5. Places I would live:

I love where we are................it's close to friends, family and shops ....don't need much else.

Looks like somebody else appreciates a new quilt cover..................

Down on the farm.....

We had a lovely weekend with a group of friends on a Cow Farm !!!

It was a long 2.5 hour drive to get there.......viewing the scenery along - the way the colours of the landscape struck me as predominantly being......russet greens, subtle greys and grey browns with warm oranges.....






With a bit of texture and simple timber furniture, some organic shapes - this earthy colour scheme wouldn't be difficult to turn into a Modern Australian decor theme.....................perhaps accents with some Australian wildflowers for a bit of impact colour.........what do you think ?
